Remember the Carrier iQ mobile snoopware? It's in AT&T's hands now

The once-controversial Carrier iQ phone support software has been acquired by AT&T.
The phone giant said it had agreed to purchase the software assets of Carrier iQ as well as a handful of its employees. Carrier iQ, meanwhile, appears to have closed up shop, with its site now offline.[...]

AT&T: Malware secretly unlocked hundreds of thousands of phones.

The audacious scheme was carried out with help from AT&T employees, the company alleged in court documents. 

AT&T said three of its employees secretly installed software on its network so a cellphone unlocking service could surreptitiously funnel hundreds of thousands of requests to its servers to remove software locks on phones.
